disingenuous not candid or sincere, typically by pretending that one knows less about something than one really does.
ex) The problem with the decision was not the result so much is the reasoning. Partly because of this, people sensed that it was disingenuous. Everybody know that the court was not veing truly neutral. 
euphemism a mild or indirect word or expression substituted for one considered to be too harsh or blunt when referring to something unpleasant or embarrassing.
